Afternoon Tea for Cancer Council

On Sunday 4th December from 2pm,

 we will be hosting an afternoon tea to raise money for this worthwhile cause

                            $5 includes Tea/Coffee and assortment of yummy homebaking

                                             My book will be on sale at $10 each

                                    and for every one sold, $1 will be donated to the cause

Lovely Weekend,Lovely finds

We had such a nice weekend

spent a nice day with family to celebrate our daughters birthday

I have been on the hunt for a crystal based lamp for yonks

Well take a look at this beauty

$15 from our local second hand store :)

and, remember the side tables I blogged about a few weeks ago

Well they sold for a great price, so I had to get more didn't I?

This little beauty I scored for $25 and I gave it a light sand and a coat of gloss and some nice crystal knobs as I did on the other two and this is the result, nice heh?

I love it, maybe this won't sell. 

 It would look very shabby chic with my crystal lamp,don't you think

For the love of Pink

Vintage fabric has a look all it's own,the quality, patterns and colour combinations

I would never have thought to put the greeny yellow with hot pink,but it works so well.

I made the cushions with remnants from my stash and added vintage ric rac braid to cover the join

 Then there is soft pintucked fabric,embroidered  with bullion roses,displayed on a lace cloth with a posy of pink roses

The garden always has a display of pink here and there

The perfection of a rose, soft and feminine,like soft velvet

A candle in a pretty teacup

and some of last years flowers,dried for the bedroom mantle

Teamed with  soft green for a handmade quilt

                                            A touch of pink in a handmade pretty cushion

The Spring rain arrived today,  even though it is quite warm. 

The flowers and veggies are all practically jumping out of the ground and pots.

Tea with friends

I am taking tea today with my Edwardian lady friends,and listening to a little classical music

 This Lady friend prefers to dress a little old fashioned, but nevertheless, elegant

Then a lovely quiet sit in the garden to admire the sweet scent of the Spring roses

and maybe, a good book

Hmmmm, A good time had by all
