Well Spring is just about here and the lovely warm lazy days to look forward to.  I spent the day cleaning windows and pottering around and  still found time to sit in the garden with a nice cup of tea.

Everything is coming to life, as if they know the chill is all but over.  Seeds are popping up everywhere, infact some I can't remember planting.  I can't wait to see what the flower is like, they look like carrots at the moment.  I know I didn't plant carrots in the flower pots, so they must be flowers.

Roses vignette

I was so fortunate to find this beautiful creamer, sugar bowl and tray which I don't think has ever been used.  It is Royal Albert moss rose.  It matches the candlestick, and pin dishes I already had.  I think they will stay on my dressing table

Around the garden today

A Cherub in a teapot
The daisies are blooming everywhere
My favourite cherubs

I am not sure that I agree with this sign my family bought for me, well not the 24hours anyway

I just love cherubs and angels.  I have so many inside and outside our home.

Our home named after Queen Victoria's holiday home in the Isle of White
and the Ships Captain that built his home near where we live, out of materials he brought from his home in England in the 1800's.  He named his new home Osborne House.
A Victorian Lady sits in the shade of the bird bath
A little cherub hides amongst the ferns
A Golden Angel waiting for the sweet peas to growThe first of our daffodils and narcissi

Three little cherubs all ready to hold a lighted candle amongst the daisies

A welcome sign on a little blue bucket

The sunroom

Our sunroom wall has now been replaced with a real one as the last wall was corrogated iron.  The colour is November Sky, I think it is so pretty and restful.  The rest of the room is Anne-Marie, which is a pretty sunny yellow

Miss Daisy claims her seat.

The best custard tarts like Lionel loves on As Time Goes By

Short crust sweet pastry ( the frozen kind is fine)
I use a buttery home made one

Custard
600mls cream
400mls full cream milk
4 large eggs or 5 small ones
teaspoon of vanilla extract
a sprinkle of nutmeg and pinch of butter for the tops
Beat together until well mixed.

Line the ungreased foil pie shells with the rolled out pastry(don't grease them otherwise the pastry will rise through the custard)
Pour in the mixed custard and sprinkle with nutmeg and a little pinch of butter
bake in a moderate oven until set

I thank God every day for his blessings, I know he will help Charlie overcome this major hurdle in his life as he has helped me through many.
I have joined pink Saturday today to raise much needed money for children with cancer. May God bless them all xx
