Latest order almost finished

I have had such a lovely relaxing week creating
this special Baptismal set

It is made in ivory silk and smocked on the romper bodice
and cape bodice in palest blue

I quilted a piece of silk to make the collar and cuffs
and after cutting them out, I embroidered French knots
on each cross over of the tucks

The front of the cape is embroidered with scrolls
one of which I embroidered the babies initials

3 pin tucks decorate the hem
and French knots scattered along

The buttons I covered with the quilted fabric

The romper is smocked with a little cross in the centre
and box pleated skirt

The shoes are smocked with quilted cuffs
and the small round bib quilted and French knots
The bib is embroidered on the back with God Bless the babies name and a cross

The Christening bib, I embroidered with the babies name and Christening date

I just have to make the hat now with a smocked band
and embroider the singlet and socks

The God mother also wants a navy and white check
smocked romper for the babe to change into

A nice long weekend now to chill out

I am going to have a little peek at my blogger friends now
I love to see what everyone else is up to.

The links are on my side bar.
