Thrifty finds,vintage pram & thingymajig.

I was extremely lucky to get this gorgeous vintage pram
given to my by a friend
It belonged to her as a child and her mother as a child before that
It's over 100yrs old

I love the worn wicker and wheels
It just shows how much it has been played with and enjoyed over the years

After giving it a good clean, I didn't want to change it much
so decided to make some covers for it
I made a white cover for the inside,a new mattress
and embroidered a babies vintage pillow case

I think my Sugar Britches porcelain doll I made and dressed
in a christening gown.(made from a vintage bridal train
looks lovely in the pram.

Now this is the thingymajig?I mentioned
I say that because I've no idea what it was meant for,
but I found it in the RSPCA charity shop for $2
For some strange reason I couldn't resist it.
I haven't painted it,it was already silver

I thought it would look good in the garden somewhere

I had these lovely pewter butterflies that are for clipping onto
and outdoor tablecloth when it's windy.

I clipped them onto the branches of the thingymajig

I just love when the sun shines on it and makes it sparkle

Whatever it was meant to be,I love it.

I hope your'e having a nice weekend

Join me for my usual linky parties
the links are on my side bar.

Jeanetteann, your pram is darling! Can you believe foolish me had one once. Got tired of it in our bedroom so I took it outside. Needless to say that it rotted away and is no more. Live and learn, right? The thing-a-ma-jig really looks cute.
hugs,
Jann

Good Morning Jeanette Ann, What a treasurer to be given this beautiful wicker pram. I love the fact that it has been used and much loved.
....and what about your thingmajig...I just love that word, it is a word you do not hear very often these days. I looked and I looked but I could not decide what it was, but it does not matter as with the addition of the pewter butterflies it looks gorgeous.
I have enjoyed my visit and have become a new follower.
I would like to invite you to visit me at Ivy, Phyllis and Me! it would be lovely to see you there.
Best Wishes from England.

Jeanette, I'm so glad I found you at the linky party! I'm there, also! After reading your "about me" section, I knew I had to sign up as your follower. I am passionate about writing, also, and feel a kindred spirit in you! Loved your post about the baby buggy as it reminds me of the one my mother has somewhere down in her basement. It would look so charming if it was painted white and perhaps used as a container for flowers in the summer. What do you think? I do hope you can drop by my blog when you get a chance.. I would love that!

The silvery thingumajig will be wonderful for all kinds of dangly things to hang on it, all year round. That wicker pram is a real treasure. You lucky thing! I think you made a wise decision not to alter it, just a clean it and it looks lovely and perfect for that doll and her fabulous robe.
