Pretty new look for bath and hand towels

I sorted through my linen press today and came upon a pair of towels
that had frayed badly along the side edges.

Now I hate to waste anything and had left them in the cupboard
because the main part of the towels was still quite thick

I cut 4 strips of fabric the length of the sides plus a few centimetres
for turning in at the ends

Sew onto towel sides, right sides together

Turn to the other side and with a little turn under to hide raw edge
sew right through all layers.

I am so pleased to get some more life out of these.
I love to make do and mend. It gives me a lot of satisfaction,
and saves me heaps of money

I had some fabric left over,so made a nice border along
both ends of 2 hand towels

I am quite pleased with my efforts

I love these, Jeanetteann. I feel just as you do. Reuse, repurpose, restyle. Great post!

The towels now look like fancy specialty towels. I have zigzagged the edges of my old towels and use them for wipe up jobs. But for towels that are otherwise in good shape, this is a great idea!

Thank you for sharing it at to What We Accomplished Wednesdays. Have a lovely week!

Hugs,
Deborah
