I have been drooling over the
beautiful potting tables and sheds
on Pinterest and in blogland
over the last few months
We have a tiny little shed that my hubby stores,
well you know a mans shed.
I suppose they are not really much different
to our sewing rooms, right
Except of cause they aren't ours
so we have no control over their contents.
This is my hubbies little domain.
Now you might wonder how on earth this resembles a potting shed
Well it doesn't YET (that is)
The problem being, how do I approach hubby with the idea
of turning HIS SHED,into a potting shed, well at least some of it anyway
Yes I'd be happy with just a little teensie corner
Lets face it,I can't very well use part of my SHED (sewing room) for potting
can I?
Over a nice cup of tea in the garden, the conversation went something like this
John ,you know, I've been seeing some really nice potting tables on some blogs
and Pinterest recently
MMM
I wondered if maybe I could find a space to do my potting
MMMM
I thought that maybe that work bench in the corner of the shed
would do, seeing as you really don't make stuff on there anymore
MMM
What do you think? maybe I could tidy up a bit in there and see if there
is room
Ok
You mean I can use the bench
If you like
I'll have a bit of a potter after lunch
OK
Does a girl need told twice? NOOOOO
I couldn't wait until after lunch,
I was in there faster than (well you get the picture)
I started chucking things out the door in a cloud of dust
The pile was getting bigger by the minute
Eyes peered around the door.
Are you throwing these out?
Up to you,do you want anything there
No
He actually cleared It all into the bin (can you believe it?)
I asked him what he thought so far
good, I'll leave you to it.
I've made heaps of room,do you need this shelf,or can I use it too.
Yes,I don't need it,
and he left me too it'
Well I was on a roll here,I even thought of tissying it all up with a coat of paint
but thought better of pushing my luck.
John, come and have a look at it now
What do you think?
Great,it looks Great.
pHHHHH
I know it's not posh like the ones on the net,but
Hey,it's mine and I love it.
Well my corner anyway,
Over lunch, he said it was a little booth and it would cost me
I promised him his favourite dinner tomorrow night
As he's Scottish,mince and tatties
I've just got to add some more nice pots and bits and bobs
and it's done
For now anyway He He. :)
Lots more room to add
Is John not the sweetest hubby ever?
Have you got a potting table/shed?
Does it have rusty old shelves and table like mine?
I don't mind a bit of rust.
I will be visiting my usual linky parties this week
The links are on my side bar.
See you there, hope to see some more potting spaces, love them

Your husband is either extremely nice about sharing his shed or very crafty in getting you to clean out all the mess! I love your space. The rusty shelves add to the vintage look of the potting bench and supplies. You need a garden sign to hang over the bench proclaiming it is yours. Great job!
I agree with Donna that you'd better get a sign up there fast so he doesn't creep back into your nicely arranged corner! I gave up my shed for my chickens and now the potting table is on the patio. I guess you can't have it all!
Love it! What a dear guy - the most important part is it makes you happy and there's a spot for you to tinker and to putter with your flowers. I do appreciate you sharing with Home and Garden Thursday,
Kathy
Super idea, I love that you have room to have a potting table and a place to store everything. This looks fabulous. Thanks for joining Inspire Me. Hugs, Marty
Hi Jeanette Ann! Oh, what a great space you have and a nice hubby to share with you! Thank you so much for popping in to see me and your kinds words.
Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Your space is now neat and organized. I have a potting table outdoors under the pergola but then I run back and forth from the garage where things are and it is not too neat out there! Happy planting! Nancy http://cozythymecottage.blogspot.com/
Well lucky you! What a fine fellow you have for a mate! I don't do much in the garden, but I love all those decked out potting benches. So cute! I'm sure you will enjoy your new space! Well done!
How wonderful you got the space for your potting shed. I don't have a Mr to ask but I have always wanted a potting shed, but that's not going to happen. I just have a long table that I found beside of the road and I lugged it home and I am going to make that my potting table. So I have seen a lot of great ideas and that is my quest for next week.
I am a new follower, spot by my blog.
Nice meeting you.
Mary
