Thifty find and sewing

It was so hot outside this week, that I was fiddling around amusing
myself inside.
I had some very nice soft dusky pink silk in my stash
and a lovely cream lacy doily
So what to make, I just needed more cushions ( I don't think)
But the fabric just shouted cushion. So cushion it was

I added a nice blingy brooch and I love it.

This is a picture from a lovely book I have
It has so many projects to make
and lovely pics of lace, like the one below. I could
browse through it for hours.

This is a nightdress case I made from the book.
I used up a scrap of white sheeting and embroidered it

I haven't been thrifting for a while,I had decided to use and enjoy
what I have instead and save
Today though it became a little cooler
We decided to go for a much needed walk in the cooler air.

Of cause you can't walk past our local second hand shop
without a peak inside,we we can't anyway
This is what we  found all mixed up in a box of old cutlery for 20cents a piece
We managed to make up two complete sets plus some jam and tea spoons
and a little ladle $3 the lot and they are silver plated.

I think I enjoy shopping in this shop when I haven't been for a while
I could have spent more, but I had decided to restrain myself this year. :)

A little vignette on my sitting room mantle

Don't forget there is still time to enter my give away to win one of

Give away drawn on Australia day 26th January

I am linking up to my favourite linky parties
The links are on my side bar

What are you making this week?

Hi Jeanetteann, you should be able to copy the URL of your 3rd Anniversary Giveaway post by pulling it up on your browser. The URL will look like this:http://jeanetteann4045.blogspot.com/2013/01/3-yr-blog-anniversary-give-away.html. Highlight the URL and copy it. Then go to the word "HERE" on this post in edit mode, highlight the word and hit the link button. It should pull up the link prompt and you can then paste in the URL you copied. Save, and that should do it. Hope this helps you. I love your pillow, the page from the book and the cutlery. Can't believe you were able to come up with a 2 complete sets. The nightdress case is so sweet. You do beautiful embroidery work. Are the roses in the vignette from your garden? They're gorgeous!

It all looks so pretty! I am not really doing too much of anything with my dad in the hospital, but look forward to life becoming a little more normal.
