An afternoon patchworking in the garden

The Spring weather was quite cold at the beginning of this long weekend,
but today,it was perfect for Monday the last day of the holiday.
We went for a walk to the garden centre and bought vege seedlings and petunia's.
After getting them all planted, I spent the afternoon in the garden with my
patch work quilt which I am hand sewing. The hours just ticked away.
Perfect

Do you see the little gorilla sitting on the lamp holder on the left
of the picture.
The children who live over our back fence keep throwing it over,
so my hubby kept it this time, yuk.

I keep putting it on top of the tool shed hoping it will fall back over the back fence
But every time I go outside it's back here.
This time I told hubby," enough" it's not funny any more

He says ok I'll get rid of it. I said if not it's sneakily going in the bin.

Our little visiting Pee Wee,who visits with her mate daily for a dip

Here she is drying off just above me.

They are so used to us now, they stay. even when we are in the garden.

This is the garden my hubby created on the front verge
I love driving up to the house and seeing all the cottage flowers
The tree is getting huge, but I love it. The council planted it when the last one died.

Our front fence.
The iris's will be blooming soon
and after seeing Sandy's gladi's (For the Love of White blog)

I bought gladi bulbs and planted them along this fence..
They are already showing through. the earth.

I hope you had a nice weekend too.
I am joining my usual lovely blog parties,
they are such fun you won't be disappointed.

Your flowers are so beautiful...and the sweet bird too. It is so weird to me to think of how different seasons are in different places in the world.

Nice to meet you. I notice you don't have a blog for me to visit, but thank you. Have a nice week, with this lovely weather. x

Love the patchwork piece. Your flowers are still beautiful. Ours mostly died this summer from the horrible heat and now temps have dropped drastically. So, I'll enjoy yours.

I gather by your photos that you are in Australia as am I. Pity the weather has to get any hotter than now. How I dread summer. I live in Qld. Anyhow your title really appealed to me...patchwork and gardens...2 of my favourite things. I love hexagons, one of my all time favourite patterns. So flexible, they can be applied to so many projects and uses. Very pretty photos and thanks for posting.

Oh what a beautiful garden you have with so many lovely flowers! You are so talented to be able to make the pretty quilt top. I've only made patchwork quilts. You asked what rutabagies are, well they are a root vegatable, round (about the size of a soft ball or larger) and light orange in color. The taste is not as sweet as a carrot. I believe they need to be grown in cooler climates. They are found near the carrots, cabbage, etc. in the grocery store. Thank you for leaving me such lovely comments on my posts and wishing you a lovely day!
