A little bit of Nostalgia

I felt like a complete change on my dining table today,
I thought I would bring out my late mothers acorn set.

I can remember as a child growing up in the West Midlands of England,
travelling with my parents to the Stoke on Trent potteries to purchase products for our shop.

The shop sold everything, from china, pottery to groceries and icecreams,a real village store.

This acorn set was one such set that came from there.  Not much else of the treasures came with us, when we all emigrated to Australia in the 60's, we were restricted on the weight of luggage we could bring.  I remember mum and dad packing and sending 9 tea chests, and that was it.  Infact only 8 ever arrived,so I am very lucky to have this pretty set.

I am having tea today with my Tuscan tea set and a nice carrot and walnut muffin

The photo in the vintage frame is of my dad and his sister at a fancy dress party.  My dad would have been 94 now, so it is really old

My tablecloth is cream with chocolate embroidery, a lucky op shop find many years ago.

I am visiting Cindy for Show and tell Friday today at My Romantic Home.

I hope you are enjoying your weekend xx
