We paid a visit to our son and his family at the weekend
Only the two older children were home
Kelly made us a cup of tea
and her older brother Keelan picked us a huge pumpkin
from his veggie patch and on the way out asked if I would like
a bunch of roses from their front garden
They are renting the house while their new one is being built
It was once owned by an Italian family.
Well you know how the older generation of Italian families love their gardening
As well as vegetables they usually grow roses out front,
You would have to see the roses in this garden to believe it
There are about 2 dozen bushes, all different colours.
The 90 yr old man next door has the same. He is Italian too.
They sure know how to garden.
I wish I had my camera with me, but didn't
This is the bunch I picked. The scent fills the house
As they started to wilt the petals were dropping. Well I couldn't
throw them away, the scent was intoxicating.
I filled lots of bowls around the house to enjoy them longer.
I refreshed some dried ones I already had from my garden
These are the ones from our garden
I tend to go for the paler pinks and golds
but I'm enjoying the brighter colours too that I brought home
I wish you could smell them from where you are
I'll be enjoying them for many more days, I think
Have a happy week
and join me at the linky parties.
The links are on my side bar.

Your roses are beautiful JeanetteAnn.
I like that you are enjoying the lovely fragrance. How thoughtful of your grandson to pick a bunch for you.
Hugs and Blessings ... Barb xx
You know, those photos are so beautiful, I can almost smell them :-). My dad was an Italian immigrant and he had a magnificent garden...he dug up just about all the lawn as he kept extending his garden...he used to use lots of compost before it was fashionable so it was great that he worked in a fruit shop as he would bring home the bins of what they had to throw out...I thought that terribly embarrassing at the time...not now! Lol
What a lovely grandson to pick you roses as well as a pumpkin. I love the purfume in the house.hugs Kay

The roses are lovely. I too enjoy the softer colors the most, but they are all beautiful. Thank you for sharing at What We Accomplished Wednesdays. Have a great week! ~Deborah
