We decided the hallway needed freshening up,although
we are quite happy with the colours,it just looked a bit
tired. I had been putting up pictures and photo's haphazardly
and it had gotten a little out of control.
The border was still in good order, and was quite expensive when we
bought it 10yrs ago,so didn't want to replace it.
My hubby painted the Lemon Gelati,a Solver colour, above the border
and it was my job to painstakingly, with a tiny brush
paint around the scalloped border
The Sparkling Burgundy, a Wattle colour, below the dado rail,
was still quite good
so we left it.
We took all the pictures and photo's down,
so time for a rethink
Slowly we started rearranging them on the floor,
then up onto the walls
We left quite a few off the left hand side,as it
was too crowded with mismatched ones
These are a few embroideries I completed a few years ago
Pink glass collection
Children and Grand children photo's
I had to include this picture as I love this series,I have a few more similar
in other rooms. Of cause I always include some cherubs somewhere
Our ancestors grouped together
A little Welcome cushion I embroidered
This light fitting was in the house when we bought it 18 yrs ago
I think it probably was an original to the home which is circa 1910,
an Edwardian Villa
Although it's quite nice,we really have been thinking about
a nice crystal chandelier instead, which would give us more light.
Although we did put in a skylight,it's at night when visitors
come it seems a bit dark. We have 2 table lamps which help.
Not sure really, as we think this looks Edwardian
I suppose they had chandeliers in Edwardian times, what do you think?
More family photo's on our 1840 antique table
I had some pretty rose patterned fabric,so made a cover
(of cause with a ruffle) love ruffles, for the old chest by the entrance
It's only for a change really. I do love the chest so will probably
only leave it there for a short while.
The cushions I made. The one on the left I smocked
Before I go and join the linky parties around blog land,
I must show you 2 new little finds.
This delightful little pink glass birdie and pretty English Teacup
$3 the two. Bargain, just need to find its saucer, which shouldn't
be hard,as it's the cups that are usually scarce.
I was happy to find out that I was featured by Deborah at Green Willow Pond
last week,I am very honoured, thank you Deborah
You will find all the links to the lovely blogs I follow and the linky parties
on my side bar. Definitely worth a peak.
I hope you have a fun week
