Willow embroidered duchess set finally finished

This is a long post as I have had a productive week.
Lots to show you.

I bought this duchess set,one large and two small mats from an elderly lady many years ago
She had embroidered them in orange and brown.

I had always wanted to unpick them and redo them in the traditional blue
I finally got into it,and here they are. I love them with my willow china

Luckily I received a give away from Doni at Faith,Grace and Craft, one of my blogger friends
In the parcel was 2 skeins of variegated blue embroidery thread.
Thanks Doni, they came in very handy.

I also made some mandarin and lemon marmalade and little blue check tops

These Three will be sold on my stall at the Bowling club

I love frogs, and especially this little blue and white tiny one.

and something about crystal with silver tops
.

This is one of the two little treasures I found this week
A crystal cruet set in perfect condition with its little tray
it is available in my Etsy shop

And this little birdie egg cup, isn't it sweet,I'm birdie mad at the moment.

I tucked it into my little flower cart amongst the roses and added some moss for a nest.
I'll be keeping this little darling

I placed some sugared almonds in her nest for eggs.

Another couple of bargains I found only today
This gorgeous platter,no marking on the bottom,
(not sure what brand it is,but it looks antique) for the bargain price of $2.99 at Savers
I'm loving this new store. even though it's an hour away,
It's a nice drive along the beach
suburbs

And this Ranleigh stainless tray $2.99,it matches a round one I already have.

I also scored a huge flat cane basket with a handle each side
I am going to use it on my stall next month for cakes
It's on the line dripping wet at the moment after a good wash

Here it is dry and nestled among my other baskets
It is a lot bigger than it looks in the picture.

This lovely full apron,another find

This is a new lavender bush I bought
I've never had this one before. It's called Princess

I hope you are having a nice day
xx jeanetteann

My goodness you certainly find some treasures at great prices Jeanette. I can so understand your wanting to unpick the stitching on the duchess set...it's like a supper cloth I bought at an antiques shop once...poinsettia in mauve :-/ I used to collect any Blue willow I could find... But am trying to offload most of it now as it lives in boxes and on shelves in cupboards which it doesn't deserve. And none of our girls want it.

You love so many of the same things that I do. I use a lot of blue and white in my decorating. And I love wicker and baskets...and lavender, of course! You are very talented. I need to learn to embroidery again!

You certainly found some very beautiful things, Jeanetteann.
I love all your blue and whites!
You did a lovely job of re-embroidering the duchess set.
It looks "right" done with blue thread.
I think the bird is very sweet and the sugared almonds make perfect little eggs for it.
Hope your marmalade sells well - it sounds delicious!
Your new lavender is a very pretty colour and I bet it smells wonderful too.
Thanks so much for linking up tonight.
You are right - we do have a lot compared to many others.
God is so good to us!
blessings..Trish xx

P.S. Is your "Savers" store a thrift store? We have Savers Thrift Stores here. I went "thrifting" just yesterday. Didn't find anything I was actually looking for but of course found lots of things not on my list. The US and Australia are a lot alike.

My goodness you have been busy :) A jar of jam please, I have the toast on already and a pot of tea. As for the Princess lavender, funny you mention it because I am seeing it everywhere this Spring including planting it in my own garden...it must be this season's fashion for lavender xo

What a wonderful job on the mats. Perfect! I would have done it too...I don't like orange etc, and blue and white is always perfect with blue & white china. Looks like my house! LOL! Wonderful post! From VTT.

I'm shocked and impressed that you redid the embroidery on those mats. They look beautiful in blue and go perfectly with the china. Wow!
