I had two lovely parcels arrive this week
from two extremely talented blogger friends
They were packed so beautifully too
This one I won from Lu lu at Coastal Sisters
I am over the moon, it is so beautiful
I entered the give away on Marydon's blog
Lu Lu makes the most amazing jewelery
Isn't this divine. I am a real cameo collector too. I am so lucky
The other parcel was from Diane at Saturday finds
I ordered this little sweetie from Diane's Etsy shop
You should see the other lovelies Diane has there
This pretty is going to go onto my DD's Birthday cake next month
I love it, as will my daughter
Be prepared this post is long and if you are still with me
I will show you more
Remember a few posts ago
I showed you the lovely pink depression glass
candlesticks and cups and saucers I found
Well today in the same shop,I found the matching cake stand
I think it was probably there when I scored the others but I didn't see it
It was in a different cabinet tucked under another bowl
I actually went for a walk to buy capsicum seedlings
I think this is nicer. I didn't end up getting the seedlings :)
I
I would love it, If someone could tell me what pattern this is.
I love the square shape of it and the saucers.
Wouldn't it be nice if I could find other pieces, like the cake plates
The pedestal matches the candlesticks
If you aren't too bored with this long post
Here is what else I have been doing this week
I felt just like cooking today.
Not baking as I have done so much of lately,
but the kind of cooking that fills the kitchen with lovely comforting smells
that make your mouth water.
I made these little lamb and potato pasties,
my Grandchildren love.
They are just the right size for their lunch boxes too.
I share a lot of what I cook with my family as they are all working full time
It helps them and I enjoy it. They reward me in so many other ways.
It doesn't cost me that much either.
My hubby and I go to the local supermarket Monday mornings very early
They mark down all their meat and chicken left over from the weekend.
Then on Wednesdays they have discount day.
Lasagne
Bolognaise ready to put with any type of pasta
Little cottage pies.
I freeze these without the cheese topping,
then
sprinkle on the cheese before popping in the oven to brown and heat through
They freeze well if wrapped securely to keep out the frost.
I made this one for tonights dinner.
Ready to serve with peas and carrots. mmmm
and something pretty before I go.
My first red rose of the Season
Thank you Diane, Lu Lu and Marydon
I hope you are having a nice day everyone.
xx jeanetteann

Now I am hungry after seeing all that food! Looks delicious. The things you got in the mail are great too. Don't know much about pink depression glass..but it sure is pretty :)
Hi JeanetteAnn...I'm a huge fan of pink depression glass and have a few pieces which include a cake plate that was my MIL's. It's chipped but priceless!
How special are your gifts and winnings...love Marydon...she is a terriffic lady and a very special blogging friend.
I hung in there through the food photos...it was hard, but I have my morning coffee to sip on as I drool over all that great looking food. It smelled good, too. Now, I'm starving and really ready for breakfast.
Hope this Sunday is a Blessing to You....Sue
Oh my, Jeannetteann: The depression glass is sooooo pretty. Also, the cameo is to be cherished. Your cooking was awesome! Thanks for sharing. Great job on all! Susan
Your food looks delicious! Very pretty gifts and shopping.

Those are beautiful gifts that you received! I adore that pink depression glass cake plate.
Your food looks wonderful! YUM!
Hi Jeanetteann,
Congrats on your new gorgeous cameo and cake topper. I just adore your pink depression glass. I have several pieces and just love them. I see you have been cooking up a storm - looks delicious!
Hi Jeanetteann,
I forgot to mention in my last comment that your beautiful pink depression glass appears to be the lovely "Madrid" pattern; however, I don't think it is the original "Madrid" by Federal Glass Co. made in 1932. It may be the "Recollection" which was later introduced by Indiana Glass. When Federal Glass went bankrupt, they sold the rights to this pattern to Indiana Glass Company. They later introduced new pieces. I would date these to be around 1976. I hope this helps you. Original Madrid is very rare and hard to find. I don't worry if something is a reproduction or not - its whether I like it or not. I really hope this helps you.
Hi Jeanetteann,
The cameo is lovely, my grandmother had a collection of cameos many years ago and I have always liked them but they are hard to find these days, the food looks pretty good too.
Merle......
Nice weekend! Your cooking is making my mouth water. :) I love your new cake plate. I think the pattern is called Madrid? I like that it is square and low. Very lovely. :)

Dear Jeanet, I just found you at the Cowgirls party!
I loved the depression glass!!
And I loved all the food you made! I love to cook, and keep saying I will freeze some meals (I was once more organized and did that)! You got lots done this week!

Hi Jeanetteann,
Your cameo is lovely. I love cameos myself. Love your pink depression glass. You found such wonderful pieces. And all that food; yum! This is a yummy post in more ways than one! Thank you for your visit and enjoy your day.

Oh, I think your depression glass is lovely!
I like the "square" shape too.
I would've bought them myself - you can always get those seedlings later on, lol!
The cameo is very feminine and the birthday piece is nostalgic and cute.
As for your cooking - wow!
You've been a busy girl, my friend - it looks fantastic!
Your love for your home and family is always so inspiring.
Thanks for linking up, Jeanetteann.
Have a blessed week..Trish xx

What wonderful gifts you received! So pretty! Your depression glass you found is so lovely. I help out once a week making a meal for my daughter and family as she works full time. You've given me some new ideas for meal planning! I make pasties for my family, only using ground beef, potatoes, onions, carrots and rutabagas. It is the same as a meat pie only made individual. Hope you are having a good week!

My mouth is watering even without the smell of fresh baked yummies.
Your the best grand-mum ever!
Hugs,
Angela.

Your red rose is beautiful and it looks like it must scent the air in your room so nicely. I have a very similar plate in free which belonged to my grandmother. And I do love cameos too. Both your winnings are wonderful. Coming over to you from Liz. Very nice to find you--I'll be back to see more of your lovely blog. Linda
