A week of stitching for my little friends.

Meet Rosemary

This is my dear friends childhood doll.
She has been packed away for years needing some TLC.

Recently she was taken to hospital and got a new arm and  lovely new blond curly hair.
Then she came to me without any clothes
Could I please dress her?

The first thing I made for her was a petticoat and pantaloons

Because my friend said that she was originally dressed in blue
I thought, blue it had to be then.

I so enjoyed dressing her,I think she is so sweet.
What about those blue eyes, are they not striking?
I think blue had to be her colour.

Now a few months ago, I introduced you to my new/very old doll Dorothy
Dorothy came to me in her original dress and I bought her new shoes.

Now when Dorothy met her new friend Rosemary, and saw her beautiful new dress, she smiled, her usual sweet smile, but I knew she would like a new one too.

After all, a girl has to have more than one dress in her wardrobe.

Well look at her now. WOW
No mistaking her new happy smile.
Because Dorothy also has beautiful blue eyes,
Her new dress is blue too. Of cause in a different fabric.

Now everyone wanted a new outfit.
So,out came the knitting needles and Linda got a new one too.
You can see Dorothy having a little rest while waiting for her new outfit to be fitted.
It was a little cool,so she put on her cardigan

Linda was my daughters childhood dolly

For some reason, they all want to come and stay with Nanny.
Secretly,I think it's for the new clothes and the company

I think there will be a lot more outfits to make in the coming weeks. Especially when the Teddies come out of hibernation.
Teddy boy has a new cardigan, but his friends are still asleep.
When he heard we were taking tea,he didn't want to miss out.

Now I think it's time to take tea together.
Freshly baked orange cake, I think.

After all,no use having a new outfit with nowhere to go.
Dear Rosemary had to leave early for another appointment.

I'm looking for a little china dolly tea set. So far a nice one has alluded me.
So my friends chose the English Elizabethan from my collection.

We are all going to visit our friends at the following parties this week

A Delightsome Life
Faded Charm
Home Sweet Home

What a beautiful blue gown you made for Rosemary. I love doll clothes. I collect them, but it's been years since I made any. I used to enjoy it so much. The dolly china at our house has taken a few hits recently. New sets can come at such a dear price, I always have a thrifting eye out for them. Good luck!

Hi Jeanetteann! Thanks for coming by. I'm so happy when you do! I have to visit you more often. I had forgotten that you collect dolls too! Us girls love our dolls! I have aquired a new one at the flea market. she is from the 50's, with the molded hair. I left her at my girlfriends house, because she is teaching me to make doll clothes, and she is in the process of getting a new outfit! I had used some of my daughters old pedal pushers to make her a dress. This way, I have some sweet memories too! My dolls and teddies love tea parties also. I have just used small china cups I find along the way. I will keep my eye out for an inexpensive set for you!

Hugs,
Debbie

Good morning Jeanetteann,
The dolls look quite happy to be having tea. What lovely outfits the dollies received! You have a gift!

I wish you lived in my neighborhood. I have my grandmother's doll and she needs a new outfit very badly, as well as a new face and hair. She was my Granny's only doll which she left to me because she knew my love of dolls. But alas, before I got her, my cousin dropped her and her face got broken. I have had her for many years but I don't know anyone around here who could fix her for me.
Thank you for joining me for tea and enjoy your day.

Blessings,
Sandi

My goodness!! What exquisite dresses you make, Jeanetteann!!
Your work is fabulous and the dolls look radiant in their new outfits :-)
I'd like to collect dolls too, but my hubby has a phobia about them.
He watched too many scarey movies with dolls in them and now I can't have a porcelain face in the house :-(
Just as well I like cloth dolls too!
Your daughter's little friends know where the best tea parties are held, lol!
Thanks for linking up and showing us your gorgeous handiwork!
love..Trish xx

Thanks for visiting my blog and for your comments. Love it when you visit.
Isn't that something how it can be so HOT in one part of the world and so Cold in another. LOL! Blow some of that cool breeze my way!
I LOVE your doll dresses!!! I used to sew doll clothes for my daughter when she was little. I can almost feel them. New fabric is so crisp. Love that beautiful lace and the little pleats.
I've missed you in my shop!
If you have time..... stop by.
Tell your sweet daughter hello!
Have a wonderful day!

I wish I had the patience to make doll clothes, but I end up throwing scissors or something across the room when I try. That's why people like me need friends like you...ha! You did a beautiful job! Your friend had to be proud of the dress you made for her doll.
