Our latest bargain find

I am so pleased with our latest find.
I have wanted a proper hutch (Welsh Dresser) for such a long time
Our local second hand dealer had three in stock this week,2 were far too big, but this was just right and a bargain price. We have bought so much from this shop.  In fact our dining room suite came from there and is almost a perfect match.(see below)

This was the hutch we had in this spot.  It was just an old chest with a book shelf attached to the top
Now I think it was a bit cluttered.

I think the new one  looks much nicer.

We had just the right spot for the old one, in my sewing room

I got out my home made chalk paint and gave the old one a good coating
I then rubbed it over with furniture wax,and it came up beautifully.
I removed the old knobs.

I love it here.  I only had one crystal knob left from previous projects,so have put in an order for 4 more for the drawers.
This is for White Wednesday at Faded Charm

This is the only knob so far
I also made a little ruffled curtain to hang in front of the space
where there used to be a door.
The lovely gift tags I use around my home, like the one above,
came from Liz at The Porcelain Rose

This is the last project I did using the crystal knobs
This is in front of the window in the sewing room

Finally received the crystal knobs, all finished

This is beside the bed settee in this room

Some more bargain finds
Grosvenor forks $1 the lot

This delightful little basket $4

and this pretty hand painted porcelain vase $2
The painters name signed on the bottom
Love the fuchsia's

Finally I must show you the gorgeous gift I received from Doni
at Faith Grace Craft
It was all beautifully wrapped in a vintage paper pattern and then placed into a little childs case
I am so thrilled with the little box of treasures.

What have you all been up to this week?

How fun to get a new hutch and what beautiful things you have. The painting you did on the old one is perfect, and those beautiful crystal knobs you use remind me I need some and should be on the hunt for them. Have to go see if anthropologie has any in their sale bin.

The crystal knobs on the cupboard in your work room are beautiful.
