Vintage tins and thrifty finds

Before I came away on holidays last week (I'm still away)
I cooked and cleaned.
One of the cleaning jobs was my vintage tin collection.
It sits on top of my kitchen wall cupboards, and gets a little dusty, the kind that sticks in a kitchen environment.  So I took them all down and gave them a much needed clean.
These are them, on my dining room table.

Some for tea

Some for biscuits

Scottish Whisky, empty now because I have a Scottish hubby.

The children spoil him on occasions with the best.

Chocolate tins

Tartan tins, note the oatcake tins. We have multitude of those for obvious reasons.
Ha hum, oatcakes go very well with Scotch,as does shortbread.

I love this tin with its thatched cottage.
I have this one for sale in my Etsy shop

Remember when Icecream came in tins.
This one I bought about 35yrs ago, actually filled with ice cream.

Now if you are not bored yet,(this post is a bit long)
This is a little of my holiday to date.

This is the view from our villa deck. Palm trees around the pool.
A glorious 19 deg celcius.
We are on the Mornington Peninsula,Victoria, Australia.

Bathing huts on the beach. I love these in all there splendid colours.

Now for the best bit.
After spending 4 hours touring the charity shops,
This is my haul. Not washed or retouched yet. Not until we get home.
Thought I would give you a sneaky peak.

The white tablecloth with the lace is a big round one
and perfect, annnnd just $4.99 woooow, still pinching myself.

The napkins tied with ribbon have little embroidered corners
of Scottish cottages and castles, heather and thistles.
The pink stemmed sherry glasses were only 5,but guess what, I have one only the same at home
$4the set.
The floral mug is Royal Albert $4
50cents for the embroidered table mat,the list goes on and on.
But, I think I will keep the rest for next time.

Annnnd, there is still a week and a half to go.

Lucky for me my hubby loves shopping too,
although he says he needs to hire a truck to get all our stuff home
He always says that, even when we are packing to come away. :)

I am joining all my usual parties this week, all featured on my right side bar.
I am belonging to so many now, it's hard to keep listing all of them here.
I'm sure though you will just scroll over and pay them a little visit.
xx Jeanetteann

 Happy Mothers Day
I will celebrate mine when I get home.

Love all of your tins. Cleaning them is part that hate the most...they don't get cleaning as often as they should but they are so high up you can't see the dust until it is really thick...lol! Enjoy the rest of your holiday. xx

Hello there. Love the furniture polish formula and your tins. My daughter moved from TExas. To Adelaide last year. I am planning to visit next year and will go to the second hand stores there of course.
