Making Marmalade

Margaret Fulton is a cooking icon here in Australia.
For over 50 yrs she has been cooking in every Australian home.
I learned to cook from a Margaret Fulton book given to me by my MIL  not long after I got married
This week, I am using her little preserve book to make lemon and lime marmalade.

I am away on holidays for 2 weeks at the moment but had a very busy week before I came away,
because I didn't want to waste this gorgeous fruit.

I love the yellow of the lemons and the green of the limes together.

It's nice when the peel is shredded quite fine, rather than thick

Part of the joy of making jams, is the colours, textures and shapes.
Aren't those little round balls just so sweet.  I wish I could put them in a bowl for decoration.

They look just as nice chopped up.

All potted up,with pretty covers I made from scraps of fabric and lace.
I use these over and over,(that is if I don't give them away, which I sometimes do.)

A productive day and time for a welcome cup of tea.

These lemons and limes were only picked from my friends tree the day before.
Now that's what you call fresh

I hope you have a productive week too.  I had lots planned for the week
to stock the larder before I came away.

What have you got planned for your week?

xx jeanetteann

I will be joining the parties that are listed on my sidebar. See you there

Jeanetteann,
Wow! you are a busy gal!
I love the gingham jar covers. They are so cute. When my mother "cans" she always makes little jar covers. I have "canned" many times with my mom but never by myself.
I love your header! All the pretty photos!
Thanks for visiting me for Pink Saturday. If you really do make a keepsake box... I would LOVE to see it. You are so talented with the needle.
Will visit again soon!
Luv, Luv,
Elizabeth

The marmalade looks great. Lemon and Lime do look good together but I'm not a fan of marmalade but would love to jam one day. I made Choko Pickles the other week for the first time, turned out good.

This sounds delicious Jeanetteann. I have never heard of it before. Love how you dressed them up. I have been gone on a 3 day quilt retreat. I've got big plants of trying to plant pots and annuals this week. Watching the weather to make sure it safe.

Dearest Jeanetteann,
You were as industrious as a BEE! We do the very same. You know, whatever comes our way it always comes at a moment you have the least time. The weather often also inter fears but I guess that's how we get most done. We're having a wedding this week and for the rest we're very busy. Cleaning, the garden, laundry and more laundry...
Love to you,

Mariette

I bet that marmalade is delicious! I buy some homemade from a man who cooks etc and also am given some by a neighbour who is also a man. We are hardly ever short of it and love it on toast. I have occassionally made it myself as well. I love marmalade.
