Good use of space in the laundry room

We have quite a reasonable size laundry room,
even though it's a walk through to the bathroom and sun room.
From the kitchen

We have this wine rack, which we had no more use for ,
as we have one built into the dining room fireplace.
So we utilise it in an unused space by the bathroom door.
I just filled it with useful baskets to hold an assortment of things.

One corner of the room was just a waste of space and for years has really annoyed me.
So I designed this pantry and had it built in. It means now I have more cupboard space in
the kitchen for my growing collection of china.

The door we had made so that it folds right back,so it feels more like a walk in pantry
We had an electrical socket put into it for the microwave.  This frees up some of the kitchen bench.

The door folds right back allowing easy access.

More storage around the washing machine and trough.
As we have a 1910 villa, there was not enough storage and no linen cupboard.
This fixed that problem. The long cupboard on the left is now the linen cupboard,
and the one behind the door houses brooms and vacuum cleaner.

We can also fit in a small freezer.

After 17 years in this house,we are finally getting it the way we want.
He He, we certainly don't hurry.  :)

Finding storage in an older house is always a challenge. My house built in 1896 has a huge laundry room that use to be a back porch. It holds everything from china, to linens and a ton of other things.
Your pantry was such a smart idea!

Looking good! I had a giggle when you said it's finally happening after seventeen years. I whinge 'cos we've been at ours for ten. Still got a few years to catch up to you.

What a challenge, you did a great job with your laundry room. I need to do the same and it'll also be a chalenge, since it's a small room. Thank you for your lovely and generous comments my sweet friend. Enjoy a great week.

How nice to have such a large laundry room! Our laundry is in the garage. Oh well, at least it is hidden out there!

Great pantry design Jeanette. You did an awesome job desinging it. I wish I had a pretty laundry space like yours. Unfortunantely, there is no room in our house for one so it is in our garage. Very hard to make a pretty little space in there :-) Hope you are having a wonderful day.

Hi Jeanetteann,
I like your storage solutions. It's exciting when you can find other uses for furniture just by putting them in another room.

Lucky you to have a nice size laundry room. Mine is in a tiny closet size room where I have to close the door to open the dryer door. Anyway, I like how you put your wine rack to good use.
Thanks for stopping by, Mary Alice

Hi Jeanetteann,
Great storage ideas, your corner pantry is so clever! One of the things on my list is to hide my microwave, someday! We have been in our 1902 for 12 years and I can't believe all the things we haven't gotten done YET!
Have a great weekend:-)

I just found your blog! I'm so excited! Australia is a beautiful place! Just you have a clothes dryer or do you dry outside in a clothesline? How does that work in your winter months?

I'm not familiar with your seasons.

Hugs new friend,
