I was looking for a nice shopping basket and found a lovely one made in france. A typical french basket for that organic fruit and veg and a nice french stick, it was for sale at www.astaraboutique.com.au along with lots more lovely things. worth a look.

we have collected every drop of water we could, even the water from cleaning our teeth This has meant the difference between our plants surviving or not.
I sat in the sunroom today and marveled at how beautiful the garden looked. The weather has cooled to a perfect mid 20's and it rained beautiful rain all day sunday. Everything that had hung in there even the vegs came to life before our eyes. I have posted some pics of the lovely sight. I now know what plants and flowers will survive in our harsh climate and I will be collecting seeds from them for next years plantings like the amaranthus which I collected last year and the pics show they have put on a lovely display. I made the tablecloth and cushions for the outside table and bench from a spare 3 mtrs of fabric I had in my stash I am very pleased with the look. Hope you like it too, enjoy xx jeanettann.

NATURE AT IT'S BEST
I realised today how lucky we are in this little part of the world. Went for our daily walk early this morning and crossing the bridge over the river near our home, we paused to watch a beautiful dolphin playing quite happily and put on a lovely show for us....just magic I will try to get a photo next time.

a treasure I found today
We went for a drive to the country today for a picnic and came across a second hand shop I hadn't seen before and look at the little treasure I found. As I collect purfume bottles I couldn't resist it, especially at only $5. Our picnic was lovely too, we sat on the grass at the river bank and lazily whiled away the perfect day as we munched on chicken salad and homemade rolls. The weather was a nice 24%

sustainability
We have been trying for ages to grow our own organic vegs and herbs and although we have had a lot of success, the birds love them too. We have planted three lots of lettuce and apart from the first lot the birds had the rest. So... we have covered the latest lot with wire, lets hope we get some of these. We also bought a worm farm today, I am quite excited about that. At least we feel we are contributing to a sustainable environment, even only in a small way.

apricot jam
my son and his family went to Halls Gap for christmas holidays just when their apricot tree was ready to yield it's fruit. So over I went and picked a truck load ( well almost) and cooked up a load of apricot jam and liqueur.
Of cause it would't have been so nice unless served in a pretty conserve pot with a silver spoon( op shop find $3. The liqueur went into pretty bottles tied with ribbon and liqueur glasses for next christmas gifts
