Latest order almost finished

I have had such a lovely relaxing week creating
this special Baptismal set

It is made in ivory silk and smocked on the romper bodice
and cape bodice in palest blue

I quilted a piece of silk to make the collar and cuffs
and after cutting them out, I embroidered French knots
on each cross over of the tucks

The front of the cape is embroidered with scrolls
one of which I embroidered the babies initials

3 pin tucks decorate the hem
and French knots scattered along

The buttons I covered with the quilted fabric

The romper is smocked with a little cross in the centre
and box pleated skirt

The shoes are smocked with quilted cuffs
and the small round bib quilted and French knots
The bib is embroidered on the back with God Bless the babies name and a cross

The Christening bib, I embroidered with the babies name and Christening date

I just have to make the hat now with a smocked band
and embroider the singlet and socks

The God mother also wants a navy and white check
smocked romper for the babe to change into

A nice long weekend now to chill out

I am going to have a little peek at my blogger friends now
I love to see what everyone else is up to.

of Baptismal/Christening outfits

I had lots of new ideas to create some different sets
This is the first of the new range

Boys romper, cape, hat and shoes in ivory silk

I have an order for another very different one I will show you
as soon as it is completed

This one is smocked in the palest of blue and piped around
the smocking, collar and cuffs

I quilted a whole lot of silk to make the collar and cuffs and band
for the hat

The buttons are self covered on the cape

These are the Christening stoles I also make

A birthday present made with love and Nice little finds

I had a lovely surprise birthday present from my DD Kerry Lee
She is so creative in lots of things and adores love hearts too.
For my birthday recently she included in my many  presents,
this mosaic love heart she made.  It will hang on the wall

I also had a good day thrifting and found some lovely treasures
This little pitcher is just gorgeous, and only cost $5

I was so pleased to find this lovely romantic wedding veil
for only $5
I'm not sure if I can put it to use in a Christening Gown yet,
or whether I just enjoy it as is.

There is something I just can't resist about wedding veils and trains
I think this will be the start of another collection
The lace underneath is an antique wedding train

I made this little dolls petticoat out of some scraps, but although
I have lots of dolls,I didn't have one small enough

I found this little pretty for $3. It just was the perfect size
I now have to make the rest of her clothes

Smocking complete on another little dress to sell on Ebay

I have bought a nice collection of new fabrics which I will be showing
in the near future, all made up into baby dresses.

Happy Week
