strangers in my garden again

Can anyone tell me if this is a weed or not.  I plant so much in our tiny garden that I don't know whether it is a weed or not. There are a few of them and 2 are a metre tall and growing near my tomatoes and beans.  Also my baby squash are showing a black spot under where the flower falls off and then the whole thing turns to a black mush. I really don't want to spray but can't think what it is. Help needed

SEWING PROJECT

I thought I would sort through my stash of old fabrics today and came accross some nice colour ways.  I turned some into simple cushions with ties on the back or maybe the front. Anyway I was quite pleased with the result.  Now where do I put them thats all I need another cushion. ha ha.
Maybe on ebay I think, yes ebay x

HANGING VEGIE GARDEN

I got a very different pot hanger for a Christmas present and although it would look very nice planted up with herbs or flowers I chose to plant it with lettuce.  The reason being I sewed too many lettuce seed and they all came up.  I couldn't bare to waste them, so every available space is now lettuce,

Any recipes for lettuce except the usual salad or cooked with peas would be gratefully accepted :)

The garden and Christmas

I made this from love in a mist that had gone to seed

The wreath is a circle of wire, I attached some bay leaves from my tree and taped a picture of cherubs to the centre

A LOVELY SURPRISE

I am so happy today, I regularly visit VINTAGE  by LOU LOU and fell in love with a little pink basket with a sweet little bird sitting on the side.  I pondered for weeks should I buy it for a little treat for myself or not.  I decided that I should not as I could not justify spending money on myself so close to Christmas.  I never told anyone about the little pink basket.

Today a parcel arrived from Lou, I was very excited and could not understand how a parcel could arrive without me knowing.  When I opened it I was so amazed, wrapped up in lovely vintage paper with a pink bow was the little pink basket, the very same one I had been admiring, along with a lovely card saying " a little surprise from KL now that is my lovely thoughful daughter who knows I follow VINTAGE by LOU LOU, but had no idea I had been hankering for the little pink basket.  She had seen it and thought I would like it. I am still amazed. It is gorgeous. Thankyou Kerry Lee and thankyou Lou for wrapping it so nicely. xx

baby bonnet

Made a few bonnets today in white batiste, smocked in white thread and edged in lace, while sitting in the sunroom looking out at the garden bathed in sunshine.  The sunny pom pom heads of the coriopsus were blooming in all their glory and have been for months. A lovely show.

VINTAGE FIND

I have been looking for vintage tea towels for so long but not wanting to pay to much for them. I have finally found my first at only $3 and I love it too much to use. Maybe when I find more I might be able to use them.
